LOCATED AT: 619 CHAPARRAL STREET next to ELLISON LAW OFFICES PARKING LOT
The “Loteria!” exhibition evolved into a plan for a Corpus Christi version of the game as well as an outdoor mural. Works of art in the exhibition were photographed, catalogued and submitted to a panel of jurors. The jurors selected 54 cards for inclusion in the mural. Twenty-four card paintings each enlarged to a 4’ x 6 ‘ panel were installed in 2014.
The mural entitled Loteria Corpus Christi was dedicated during a ceremony on October 2, 2015 in conjunction with ArtWalk to the Marina Arts District. 34 of the 50 participating artists and a crowd of close to 200 art lovers were in attendance.
The finished size of Loteria Corpus Christi is 56 ft. x 24 ft. It is located on the south wall of the 619 Chaparral St., in downtown Corpus Christi.
Loteria! mural merchandise is available at K Space Contemporary and at the Dia de los Muertos Festival.
